Alocasia odora x Alocasia robusta
After a year and one month, here is how one of the Robudora seedlings looks. As they have grown, they have begun to show their own individual characteristics. This one has more of the morphological look of A. robusta, but some of the others look more like A. odora. A few look like a different plant from both parents. One in particular has already produced an inflorescence (see below).
These plants are still not fuly mature. I expect that one or more of them will attain a size close to, or even surpassing, the huge size that A. robusta is known for.
Above is the first inflorescence I have seen from this group of hybrid seedlings. In a few days I will know if this plant is fertile or sterile. The color is very similar to that of blooms on A. robusta, only the hybrid bloom has more of a matte look and is much larger than the species bloom.
